A.I.: the game-changer you can't afford to ignore
A.I. is everywhere, transforming industries and redefining how businesses operate. Yet, according to an article in Knack Datanews, a surprising one in three Belgians has never used A.I. tools – a gap between A.I.’s potential and its practical application. Why the hesitation? Perhaps it’s the pace of change or simply not knowing where to start.
But here’s the thing: staying informed about A.I. doesn’t have to take hours out of your day, and it can give you a serious competitive edge. Curious about how A.I. can optimize workflows, enhance customer experiences, and drive results? Dive into our blog to explore why embracing A.I. now is more crucial than ever.
How merger-ready are you?
As of January 1, 2025, several Flemish municipalities will merge, with one merger in Wallonia already taking place on December 2, 2024. While these mergers aim to enhance government efficiency, they also pose potential challenges for businesses that depend on accurate data. Changes such as new municipality names, updated NIS and KBO numbers, and modifications to street names or house numbers could lead to duplicate or inconsistent data in CRM systems and reporting tools. This, in turn, might disrupt operations, create inaccuracies in trends, and complicate decision-making.
Unite Data offers a seamless solution to manage these transitions. By ensuring data consistency, removing duplicates, and aligning records with the latest updates, our software keeps your databases clean and reliable. Want to avoid disruptions and maintain the quality of your data through these changes? Learn how Unite Data can help you stay ahead during this period of adjustment.
What else is new?
Smartschool’s recent attempt to introduce A.I. into its platform, aimed at helping teachers by identifying at-risk students, has sparked significant backlash. While the tool’s goal was to alert teachers about students with high absenteeism, poor results, and low engagement, it raised concerns about privacy, especially regarding children’s data.
This controversy highlights a broader issue: the rapid adoption of A.I. technologies without clear communication or sufficient public debate. People are uncomfortable with the idea of their personal data being processed by A.I., especially when its implications are not fully understood. O2 has introduced “Daisy,” an A.I.-powered virtual grandmother designed to counter phone scammers by wasting their time and diverting them away from real victims. Developed in collaboration with A.I. experts, Daisy mimics a friendly and talkative elderly woman who keeps scammers engaged in long conversations, effectively thwarting their attempts to defraud unsuspecting individuals. This initiative is part of O2’s broader campaign to protect people, especially the elderly, from the growing threat of phone scams.
The project was launched in response to a survey showing that 60% of UK adults have experienced phone scams, with elderly people being particularly targeted. Daisy not only aims to combat scammers but also raises awareness about phone fraud and encourages individuals to report suspicious calls. O2’s efforts demonstrate a creative and proactive approach to addressing the issue while showcasing the potential of A.I. to solve real-world problems.
